Truck Day

There’s one truck! And another one...

Valley Stream nursery school students had a lot of exploring to do last Friday. The annual Truck Day festivities featured about a dozen large vehicles for them to check out and learn about.

The event, which is open to children from the Grace United Methodist and Holy Trinity nursery schools, is an annual event. It is held at the Hendrickson Pool parking lot. This year, from the village, there were two fire engines, a fire department bucket truck, ambulance, street sweeper, dump truck, garbage truck, cherry picker, bulldozer and clam shell truck. Bobby Brown and Greg Hock, both of Valley Stream, brought a tanker from Petro Oil.

Horns were blaring constantly as children got to sit in the driver’s seat and make a little, or a lot of noise. They got to climb through the fire trucks and ambulance, and watch how many of the Department of Public Works trucks operate.
