Kevin Tritschler, a fifth-grader at Robert W. Carbonaro Elementary School, was honored for winning third-place for the Most Philosophical Fifth-Grader in America at a Village of Valley Stream Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 19.
The Kids Philosophy Slam is a nationwide annual competition that gives third- through fifth-grade students an opportunity to learn more about philosophy. More than 4,000 students submitted artwork, short stories, poems and essays about the topic “Truth or Deceit: Which has a Greater Impact on Society” to the slam.
“Kevin, being recognized amongst thousands of entries is a truly great accomplishment,” Mayor Ed Fare said.
He and the board of trustees then presented Tritschler a citation in recognition of his accomplishment.
