Senior Shane Saltzman will lead a group of at least seven Valley Stream North wrestlers at this weekend’s Nassau County Division I championships after capturing last Saturday’s qualifying tournament 132-pound at Plainedge.

The Calhoun girls’ varsity badminton team recently won the Nassau County Championship with a 4-3 victory over Great Neck South. The Calhoun girls finished the season with a 15-0 record –– and their second straight championship. Team Captain Christina Strezenec won the overall singles title, beating out all other Nassau badminton players in a two-day tournament. With this win, Strezenec became the only player in Calhoun history to win four county titles playing a varsity sport.
