In addition to his legal career, O’Connell also served as Valley Stream’s representative to the board of Friends of Bridge, an alcohol and substance abuse program based in Valley Stream, for 20 years.

DeGrace said he and the other members of the golf committee selected people who donated their time and resources to local organizations. “Both Dominick and Geoff are very involved, not only in the Republican Party, but in other organizations as well,” he said.

The event was held at the Lido Beach Country Club for the 11th consecutive year. Prizes were given out for several feats including longest drive, closest to the pin and lowest overall score. There were also prizes raffled off during the dinner portion of the event. The prizes were either donated by local merchants or purchased by the committee.

DeGrace said that the money raised will go toward supporting Republican candidates as well as various charitable organizations.
