Valley Stream CHD students honor board members

Valley Stream Central High School District students presented school board members with a few tokens of appreciation at its Nov. 4 meeting in recognition of School Board Recognition Week.

Pieces included a framed photograph with accompanying text from South High School students Chris Oliveira, Gina Capone, Joelle Hessing and Samantha De La Cruz, and a framed photograph of North High School’s Leadership Academy students from Nicholas Rossetti, president of the school’s Senior High Student Council. Students from Memorial Junior High School and Central High School also contributed gifts.

Superintendent Bill Heidenreich said board members’ decisions have a real impact on the education students in the district receive, and help them to become well-rounded young adults. He commended board members for their dedication.
