The Valley Stream American Legion hall hosted residents from the Town of Hempstead’s ANCHOR program on Nov. 19 for dinner and dancing. The party is typically held twice a year by Andrew Fatscher Post 854, located on Roosevelt Avenue.
ANCHOR, which stands for Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation, is a comprehensive year-round program serving 1,200 children and adults with special needs.
Boy Scouts from Valley Stream Troop 116 helped out by serving food to the guests, who enjoyed the evening out.
