Mostly Cloudy Car catches fire while being towed in Valley Stream

Valley Stream firefighters fought a car fire on East Hawthorne Avenue in on Sept. 2.
Engine Company 2 from Brooklyn Avenue was first on the scene and stretched a hose to the vehicle, which burned in the middle of the street.
The vehicle, a Ford minivan, was being towed when it caught fire. Firefighters under the command of Chief James Ervolino brought the fire under control in minutes. The vehicle was totaled. No injuries were reported.
