Central students think pink

For a day, Valley Stream Central High School’s colors weren’t blue and white. They were teal and pink. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Central High hosted a Pink Fun Fair in its gymnasium on Oct. 18.  

The theme for the second annual fair was “Just Pink It.” All Central High School clubs sponsored tables with pink-themed activities, including zumba dancing, karaoke, musical chairs, hula hoops and a fun photo booth with pink costumes.

“Just Pink It” T-shirts and socks were also available for purchase at the event, and will remain on sale throughout the month. All proceeds will be used for the school’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser.

Students also signed a banner that was carried during the Oct. 20 Jones Beach Breast Cancer Walk.
