‘The Infiltrator’

The Elmont Memorial Library will have a special showing of “The Infiltrator,” which was released in July. The film is based on a true story and stars Bryan Cranston as Robert Mazor, a U.S. customs officer working as a drug enforcement agent who goes under cover to expose Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar in Miami during the 1980s. Film is rated R.

Winterfest crafts

In conjunction with Valley Stream’s ongoing Winterfest, the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library will host a series of events that feature holiday crafts and stories for children from grades kindergarten through sixth grade. The crafts take place on Dec. 27 at 2 p.m., Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. and Dec. 29 at 4 p.m. For more information, contact Ms. Kunz at (516) 825-6422.

Menorah lighting

A giant Hanukah Menorah will be lit up to officially ring in the festival of lights on Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony takes place at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Franklin Street.
