Two vehicles collided and ended up on the front lawn of a Rockaway Parkway home Monday morning. One driver was seriously hurt and another was arrested.

Police say a 1999 Mitsubishi SUV was heading southbound on Rockaway Parkway when the vehicle struck a 2000 Honda minivan at the corner of St. Marks Place. The Honda overturned and landed just feet from a house.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 39-year-old Fulvio Mora of 93rd Street in Jackson Heights, Queens, fled the scene, according to police. He returned shortly after and was arrested. Police charged him with leaving the scene of an auto accident with serious physical injury, having an uninsured motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, reckless driving, speeding and passing on the right.

The female driver of the Honda was taken to Winthrop Hospital. She suffered severe abdominal, back and neck injuries, according to Valley Stream Fire Chief Joseph Fernandez. A male passenger had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
