Local kids participated in several Easter egg hunts in Valley Street last week, the April 4 event at Arthur J. Hendrickson Park being the largest, with dozens of hunters rushing the lawn for hundreds of eggs strewn about in the grass. That event was organized by the Elks Club.
Students at the Brooklyn Avenue School had a chance at some eggs on April 1. The school’s PTA organized the hunt, with scores of candy-filled plastic eggs placed around the school’s front lawn.
Dana Rush, a PTA member, dressed in a giant Easter Bunny costume to greet each class as they took their turns on the lawn. Three eggs containing golden tickets were allocated to each class’s hunt, and those netted their finders prizes like toys, crayons and other fun items.
