On Stage

Tartuffe
Molière is the second most produced playwright after Shakespeare; Tartuffe is Molière at his comic best. An exposé of religious fervor and hypocrisy, it has remained comic, current, and controversial for more than 350 years. This production, at Adelphi University’s intimate Black Box Theatre, moves the locale from 17th century Paris to modern, money-soaked Texas.
Tuesday through Thursday, April 6-8, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 9, 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 10, 8 p.m.; Sunday, April 11, 2 p.m. $15, $10 seniors, $7 students. Adelphi University's Black Box Theatre, 1 South Ave., Garden City. (516) 877-4000.
