Familiar Central H.S. grad honored

Central High School graduates, from left, Richard Earl, Steve Buscemi and Jerry Seckler attended the ceremony, where Buscemi was honored as an “Outstanding American.”
Valley Stream native and actor Steve Buscemi was honored at the Downstate Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction in Melville on April 24.
Buscemi was recognized as an “Outstanding American.” He was presented with the award by Jerry Seckler, president of The Friends of Long Island Wrestling. Seckler also wrestled at and graduated from Central High School.
Also at the ceremony was Richard Earl, a high school teammate of Buscemi’s. Video of the two wrestling in eighth grade exists on Earl’s Youtube account.
