Former mayor endorses Fare

To the Editor:

As a former mayor of Valley Stream, I still reside in our village with my family, and care very deeply about its future. I would like to endorse the candidacy of Ed Fare and the United Community Party team of Vincent Grasso, Dermond Thomas and Robert Bogle.

I have known Ed Fare for 30 years. He is an extremely competent elected official and respected member of our community.Besides serving on the village board as a trustee for seven years, Ed has been a fireman for many years, a teacher and a good citizen, active in the Valley Stream Historical Society. Above all, Ed Fare is a family man. He and his wife, Ronni, are raising their three children in Valley Stream. They are as committed as any I know to keeping our village thriving and beautiful.

Ed possesses the intelligence and experience to lead our village through the crucial years ahead. During an economic downturn, when other communities have seen their bond ratings deteriorate, Ed has shown greatfiscal restraint on the village board, keeping our bond rating stable. Our taxpayers have not seen an increase in this latest budget.

Ed worked closely with our beloved Mayor Ed Cahill, and Mayor Cahill personally indicated to me that Ed Fare was an individual that he could count on and was always there to support Mayor Cahill in his agenda for our village and its citizens.

Ed Fare is a highly principled individual. I know him to be honest and ethical. His credentials to lead our village are above reproach.
I would like to take this opportunity to make special mention of another individual running for office this year. Village Justice Bob Bogle, a highly respected judge, widely known in municipal circles for his great and discerning command of municipal law, is seeking his seventh term as our village judge. We in Valley Stream have a rare privilege of keeping an individual of Judge Bogle’s character and fitness representing our interests here in Valley Stream. Although he is running unopposed to succeed himself, Judge Bogle deserves our votes in a demonstration of the confidence we as a community have in him and his highly esteemed abilities.

The Fare team, including the very able Trustee Vincent Grasso, and rounded out by highly regarded attorney and civic-minded citizen Dermond Thomas, is the clear choice on March 15.
