Give Grasso your support

Posted

Vincent Grasso is running uncontested for a one-year seat on the Valley Stream Village Board of Trustees. He has served on the board since January, when he was appointed to the seat left vacant by the death of Guido Cirenza last year.

Grasso, the executive director of the Nassau County Bridge Authority, has previously run unsuccessfully for the Hempstead Town Board, the Nassau County Legislature and the New York State Assembly. It all worked out for the best, he reasons, because now he will have the chance to more directly serve his community.

There is no government closer to the people than the village. It’s where some of the most important services — sanitation, parks, fire protection, the library, road repairs — are provided. Grasso and his wife, Mary, are raising their daughter in Valley Stream. We believe he has the best of intentions and wants the best for his fellow community members.

Although Grasso is running unopposed, Valley Stream residents shouldn’t stay home next Tuesday. We encourage voters to get out and support Grasso, who has been a solid addition to the village board.
