Posted

Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a BP gas station at 85 North Central Ave. on June 5 at 9:06 pm, Nassau County police said.

The man allegedly walked into the station’s mini market and held the clerk at gunpoint before moving behind the counter and demanding money from the register.

The clerk handed him an undetermined amount of cash before he ran away heading south. No customers were in the store at the time, and no injuries were reported. Police also responded to a reported robbery at the store earlier this year.

The suspect was described as a Black man, roughly 5 feet and 8 inches, with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red sweatpants, grey gloves, and a black facemask.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 244-8477 or call 911. All calls are confidential.
