Man with knife robs gas station

Police are searching for a male suspect who used a knife to hold up a North Valley Stream gas station on Dec. 11.

A 21-year-old male gas station attendant was working at the Ultra Gas Station, at 360 W. Central Ave., when he was approached by the suspect, who brandished a silver knife and demanded cash. The employee complied, and the suspect fled on foot west on Clarendon Drive with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 with a dark complexion and a medium build and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, dark pants and a blue backpack.

Police asked that anyone with information about the crime call (800) 244-TIPS.
