Person of the Year says thanks

To the Editor:
I would like to thank the Herald and Andrew Hackmack for having selected me as the Valley Stream Herald’s Person of the Year. I greatly appreciate this honor.
As a longtime resident of Valley Stream, I have always felt that it is important to be involved with my community. I have enjoyed every minute of my time with my family, my church, Friends of Bridge, the library and Village Hall. I am humbled by this recognition and thankful for the opportunities to participate in community service.
I would especially like to thank Andrew for all the time and effort that went into preparing the article, which included interviews with my family, friends and colleagues. The article stated so many wonderful things and was both heartwarming and touching.
