Two men wearing hockey masks robbed a couple in North Valley Stream last Saturday morning, police say.

Jose Gutierrez, 24, of Beach 100 Street in Far Rockaway, and Luis Garcia, 20 of Miller Avenue in Brooklyn, are accused of robbing a male and female outside a home on Greenway Boulevard at 5:20 a.m. on Nov. 7. Police say they displayed what appeared to be handguns and the victims turned over their cash, cell phones, a blue tooth and a purse.

The suspects fled in a white Acura, but were stopped a short time later on Arkansas Drive by 5th Precinct Police. According to police, Garcia, the driver, tried to evade police by striking the patrol car. The suspects then fled on foot, according to authorities, and were arrested a short time later on Salem Road. Police say the stolen property was found in the Acura.

No injuries were reported.

Gutierrez and Garcia were each charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and first-degree criminal use of a firearm. Garcia was additionally charged with third-degree criminal mischief and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
