Queens woman steals from restaurant, brawls with staff in the process

A Queens woman was arrested after allegedly stealing food from Kim Wong Chinese Kitchen in Valley Stream on Nov. 18, according to police. Victoria Ogundipe, 27, entered the Merrick Road restaurant and nabbed a bag of food before leaving without paying. A 54-year-old employee followed Ogundipe, trying to retrieve the stolen item. A fight allegedly broke between them with Ogundipe landing several blows on the employee before knocking him to the ground and proceeding to choke him. The employee suffered from swelling and bleeding to his right eye along with a severe laceration. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Ogundipe is charged with robbery and criminal obstruction of breathing. She was arraigned on Nov. 19 at First District Court in Hempstead. As of press time, she is due back in court on Nov. 21.
