Questions Barra’s appointment

To the Editor:

I’d like to know why Lynbrook resident Bob Barra was appointed and confirmed to be Valley Stream village clerk. This should not be legal. Our mayor and trustees have sent the message that no one in this village is more capable to do the job than a Lynbrook guy best known for bringing coffee to Dean Skelos. They have sent the message that a man ignorant enough to tell this paper that same-sex marriage is akin to “people marry[ing] animals” should have our trust and respect. 

Republican cronyism has trumped what’s best for the people of the village of Valley Stream, and I wonder how many of its residents who are informed of this installation feel about paying an outsider to govern us.
