Remove Gibson from flood zone

To the Editor:

I am a resident of the Gibson area in Valley Stream that the Federal Emergency Management Agency mandated flood insurance. I do believe that we have had that 100-year storm that FEMA officials contend would flood out our area of Valley Stream. Well, I am happy to state that no flooding has been found in the Gibson area of Valley Stream and must strongly urge Sen. Charles Schumer to have FEMA rescind the mandatory AE flood zone that was imposed on us by erroneous information provided by FEMA.

Please, Senator, help us fight this battle, as I have just received a renewal notice from Travelers with an increased premium. I have provided Travelers with a documentation for two-year Preferred Risk Police Eligibility Extension form and yet I have received a bill that was increased by $200. Please help us, Senator, as this storm does offer solid proof that the Gibson area of Valley Stream does not flood.
