Senator gets the job done

To the Editor:

On behalf of numerous fellow Valley Streamers, I’d like to say “thank you” to Sen. Charles Schumer now that we’ve endured Hurricane Irene without experiencing flooding. The time our senior U.S. senator has spent listening to many in our community about the FEMA flood maps and working to revise them is very much appreciated. Gibson residents will now hopefully be spared unaffordable flood insurance rates. We encourage Senator Schumer to keep up the good work on this pressing economic issue.
