With their respective seasons over, the Central and South varsity baseball squads hit the diamond one last time on May 12 at South High School for the annual Mayor’s Cup game. South’s Falcons came from behind to defeat the Central Eagles 10-7.
South, which had been down 5-0, rallied behind the bats of Andrew Hess and Jack Palleschi to win. The starting pitchers were Thomas Meaney for the Falcons and Ricky Grosso for the Eagles.
After the game, which began at noon, Mayor Ed Fare presented a trophy to players and coaches from South.
