Supports LaRocco in District 24

Posted

To the Editor:

This week I received a postcard that was misleading and will make residents think that District 24 supports Nat Patel. District 24 has never supported any candidate past or present. In fact, I was once a candidate myself. In running for a board seat I realized that there are many, many hours and information that one must need to fulfill the job to its fullest potential. I have dedicated my time in becoming a PTA president as well as SEPTA president. This is the only way one can fully understand how a school district works.

We at District 24 are very fortunate to have a school board that supports so many programs, such as Spanish, art, music and a very up-to-date technology program and, of course, special education. Without these programs, our children would not be prepared to enter high school or college. Of course, these programs come with a cost. But isn’t it worth it when we are ranked among the top high schools across the country as stated in Time magazine?

If it wasn’t for the education we provide at the elementary level, our children wouldn’t be so successful. If you consider what a private education costs, upwards of $5,000 just at the elementary level along with the programs that they cannot afford to provide, our children in District 24 are extremely fortunate.

Donna LaRocco and the rest of the trustees on our school board make sure that every dollar spent is for the benefit of the children and every dime spent is well worth it. So when voting for the budget on May 15, don’t forget to vote for Donna LaRocco, the lady who wants to see our children succeed.
