Thanks officials for listening

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and compliment Assemblyman Brian Curran for holding the Valley Stream Town Hall meeting on May 19. I would also like to thank Valley Stream Mayor Ed Fare and Town Councilman Jim Darcy for co- hosting the meeting.

The meeting was extremely informative and very well run. Assemblyman Curran brought us up to date on the current status of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s new flood maps, while Mayor Fare and Councilman Darcy were extremely receptive to questions regarding local issues. I was happy to see that our newly elected assemblyman and mayor are listening to the people. The evening began to restore my faith in our local officials, and gave me renewed hope that we can expect excellence in our elected officials. I believe we received just that.
