Valley Stream Central High School holds Summer Bridge Program

Posted

The Valley Stream Central High School District kicked off its Summer Bridge Program this July. This annual resource for incoming 7th-grade students gives them the opportunity to acclimate themselves to junior high school life at Valley Stream North and South high schools and Memorial Junior High School in small group settings.

Starting on July 10 at North—and running through August 5 at Memorial and August 17 at South—Summer Bridge introduces the incoming students to their new homes. The 7th graders receive their student IDs and school computers, get a chance to tour the buildings and gain an understanding of their layout, and mingle with new friends from different elementary schools through a number of socialization activities. All of it is designed to ensure a seamless transition to middle school for the students.
