Valley Stream groups install officers

The Valley Stream Historical Society and American Legion Andrew Fatscher Post 854 recently installed its officers.

At the Historical Society's installation on June 15 at Holy Trinity Parish Hall, President Guy Ferrara, Vice President Gabe Parrish, Corresponding Secretary Agnes Libath and Treasurer Florence Gunther were returned to their posts. Five new trustees, Melanie Czarneta, Angelo LaCalandra, Robert Szendrey, Dave McKean and Joyce Wurtenbuge, joined the board of directors.

The officers and trustees were sworn in by Mayor Ed Fare, who is also the Historical Society’s chairman of the board. He also presented Parrish with a citation from the village to mark Parrish's 90th birthday.

American Legion Post 854 installed its new officers on June 16. The new commander is John Faust, who takes the reigns from Ron Feltington. Faust and other officers were sworn in by William G. Harms.

Ann Marie Leone became the new president of the Ladies Auxiliary, taking over from Mary Ann Zuma.
