Valley Stream honors retiring police officer

At the village board meeting on Oct. 18, police officer Stan Slevinski was honored with a citation to mark his retirement from the Nassau County Police Department after 37 years of service. Trustee Edwin Fare presented the award to Slevinski during the proud moment before they posed with other village officials and Slevinski’s wife, Karen.
“Slevinski has been invaluable to the public works, bureau, and code enforcement department,” Fare said. “We are very proud of him and we wish him a happy retirement and life.”
Slevinski, of Valley Stream, most recently worked as the 5th Precinct’s crime analyst.
