Before Valley Stream’s big parade on Monday, two local organizations honored those who have given their lives in war. Last Saturday morning, the Central High School Alumni Association held its annual Memorial Service.

Undeterred by rain, former and current students gathered to remember the school’s alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice. On Sunday morning, American Legion Post 854 paid tribute to deceased servicemen and women.
