The Village of Valley Stream will hold its annual Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony this Sunday, to mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Hendrickson Park memorial area, near the tennis courts.

This year, a 15-foot, 3,350-pound steel beam from the World Trade Center will be unveiled. The artifact, which the village acquired on Aug. 23, will become part of a permanent monument at the park's memorial site.

Speakers will include Mayor Ed Fare, the Rev. Kymberly Clemons Jones, and the Rev. Brenda Overfield. There will be a presentation of the colors by Cub Scout Pack 367, singing of the National Anthem, playing of Taps, a violin interlude and placing of the wreathes.

There will also be time for reflections. All members of the community are invited to intend to remember the victims and heroes of Sept. 11, 2001.
