My family has lived in Valley Stream since 1954. My three siblings and I, along with a niece and nephew, have graduated from the Valley Stream school system, elementary school through high school. Valley Stream has always had exceptional organizations for all ages run by extraordinary residents of knowledge and character.

We’ve watched the demographics of this fine community develop, change and evolve again, becoming what it is today. Through the years, public services were always timely and responsive to the needs of its residents. Safe neighborhoods, services and its locality to New York City and the beaches have graced Valley Stream as a terrific place to live and to grow up.

We’ve watched elected officials come and go, very loyal public servants who proudly saw to our needs, leaving only fond memories. Given the evolution of our demographics, the concern in a complex society is: Can the politics of the village remain inclusive of all residents?

Along comes the United Community Party, remarkably mirroring the demographics of today’s Valley Stream. It resembles a perfect bipartisan blend of individuals uniquely positioned with the knowledge and experience to understand and serve our needs. Our concerns may be put to rest.

At a time when politics has become a divisive institution, the UCP Team is uniquely positioned to deliver services that continue to make Valley Steam a great place to live. Experienced and proven, Ed Fare, Judge Robert Bogle, Vincent Grasso and Dermond Thomas, a talent and proven leader in community affairs, form a team that truly matches the residents of Valley Stream.

For my family and me, we are looking forward to the village election on March 15.
