Antonio Buccellato, a fourth-grader at Willow Road School in Franklin Square, looked over a weaving project with his mother, Nicole, during the Lights on for Education Program last Thursday evening at Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School. Antonio will get to do the project next year as a fifth-grader.

The Lights on for Education Program focuses on emotional literacy and highlights four anchors — Mood Meters, Blueprints, Meta Moments and Charters — and emphasizes vocabulary development as part of literacy education.
