During the corinavirus, animals need more help than ever, as Last Hope Animal Rescue seeks donors and humans to care for their charges.

Wantagh’s Lee Road Elementary School is looking to lend a helping hand – or paw. The school’s Community Service Committee recently collected donations for Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation in Wantagh.

The school community came together to generously donate cat and dog food, towels, leashes and toys for currently adoptable animals. The donation was delivered to the animal rescue at the end of March.

The animals at the rescue center depend on donations for survival. With donations becoming more and more sparse due to the coronavirus pandemic, students were very excited and enthusiastic to make a difference in the animals’ lives.
