POLICE: TD Bank in Wantagh robbed, suspect not yet found

Police are searching for the man who allegedly robbed a bank in Wantagh on Sunday morning.

An unknown man entered the TD Bank at 1200 Wantagh Avenue at approximately 11:44 a.m. on Oct. 3, according to a report from the Nassau County Police Department. The man approached a bank teller, a woman, and allegedly passed her a note that demanded cash.

The teller complied and gave the undisclosed amount of cash to the man. He then exited the bank and fled westbound onto Jerusalem Avenue on foot, the report said. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Nassau County Police Department and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the scene after the incident occurred. 

The subject is described as a heavyset Black male in his late 30’s or early 40’s. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black winter jacket, black sweatpants, sunglasses and a face mask. Anyone with information is advised to call the police hotline at 1-800-244-TIPS.
