A conversation with the W.H. administration

West Hempstead school district administrators held their first “A Conversation with District Administration” meeting last week with other administrators, faculty, parents and community residents.

The primary focus of the Aug. 31 meeting was to discuss the district’s strategies and goals for improving student achievement, from kindergarten through 12th grade. Superintendent John Hogan, Deputy Superintendent Richard Cunningham and Assistant Superintendent Ann Peluso presented those in attendance at the Chestnut Street School board room with the recently completed three-year district Strategic Plan.

The purpose of holding a “conversation” with the entire school community, according to the administrators was to get feedback and input from parents and other about academics and expectations for district students. Additional meetings with be held in the West Hempstead High School videoconference room at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30, Feb. 6, May 14 and Aug. 27.
