Two men are being charged and police are looking for three others in connection with the brazen daytime armed robbery of the Radio Shack on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre on June 21, and with an attempted robbery at a T-Mobile store on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead a day earlier.

Nassau County police arrested Jamar Parker, 28, of Hempstead and KaJuan Crawley, 25, of Brooklyn, in Hempstead about 25 minutes after the Rockville Centre heist.

According to police, three men entered the Radio Shack at about 2:15 p.m. At least one of them brandished a long barreled revolver and announced a robbery.

Employees were forced to the rear of the store while the subjects took various electronic merchandise including cell phones, gaming systems and Ipad tablet computers. The men then ran out of the front door of the store with the merchandise and into a light colored, older model SUV-style vehicle bearing Florida license plates.

Rockville Centre police were notified by a witness, said to be an off-duty New York City cop, who tried to follow the getaway car. He was prevented from doing so by two other men in a second vehicle, a yellow 2012 Chevrolet Camaro that continually impeded and blocked the path of the vehicle driven by the witness. After receiving the description of the car that was radioed by a Rockville Centre patrolman, Nassau County First Precinct officers were able to stop and arrest Parker and Crawley at Fulton and North Franklin avenues at 2:38 p.m.

After a subsequent investigation by police, Parker and Crawley were linked to an attempted robbery at a T-Mobile store on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead on June 20.

According to detectives, around 12:50 p.m., two men — one armed with a long barrel revolver — entered the store. The employees, police said, were able to lock themselves in the office and there were no customers in the store at the time.

According to police, the men spent about one minute in the store before getting in a red or maroon Mitsubishi where a third suspect was waiting for them. Parker, Crawley and an unidentified suspect allegedly fled, heading north on Euston Road South.

No proceeds were taken from the store. No injuries were reported, police said.

Additional details were not immediately available as the Herald went to press.

Parker and Crawley were charged with first-degree robbery and attempted robbery and were scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead on June 22.
