The sixth grade Advisory and Community Service Club at Howard T. Herber Middle School held a food drive benefitting the Interfaith Nutrition Network, or I.N.N, in Hempstead. The kids’ donations will help people struggling with food insecurity or homelessness.

In addition to food, Davison Avenue students handcrafted Thanksgiving ‘math mats’ with messages of cheer, hope and love.

The elementary school students used beads, stickers and more to create festive crafts in celebration of the holiday. Each student’s creativity shone through in their projects.

Thanksgiving is a holiday all about gratitude and community — and this year, students across the Malverne and West Hempstead school districts had their own ways to celebrate.

Kindergarteners at Maurice W. Downing Primary School had their annual balloon parade, where children marched across the school holding colorful balloons in celebration of the holiday.

The students of Davison Avenue and Howard T. Herber Middle School gave back to their communities by organizing a food drive, which will go to the Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead to help people struggling with food insecurity and homelessness.

Cornwall Avenue students handmade Thanksgiving-themed arts and crafts.

Regardless of their school or grade, students from all over made sure to show their Thanksgiving spirit!
