Children begin a new journey at West Hempstead's Chestnut Street School
Chestnut Street School Principal Faith Tripp welcomed kindergartners, parents and teachers on the first day of classes in West Hemp-stead on Sept. 5.

Many of the kindergartners at Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead were filled many emotions that come along with your first day of school. On Sept. 5, parents accompanied their nervous, but excited children as they made their way to the entrance of the school to begin a new journey. Prepared with new backpacks and lunch bags that featured their favorite animated characters, children at Chestnut Street were ready for their first day of school.
