Excavator hits man in Malverne

A construction site in Malverne Monday afternoon turned tragic when a 69-year-old man was hit by a Bobcat machine at a residential construction site, according to police.

Police said the victim suffered “serious injuries” and was taken by Nassau County police helicopter to a local hospital. Police said the man is listed in critical condition.

The incident happened on June 19 at 2:32. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
