The West Hempstead Community Support Association and the Central Nassau County Rotary Club had a full afternoon of holiday activities for people all ages at Hall’s Pond Park on Dec. 9. The community’s holiday celebration featured face-painting, hot chocolate and cookies, costumed characters and a strolling magician to go along with holiday music and carolers by the “Showmobile.”
Children also got to take part in ornament decorating and preparing their own stuffed animals. Santa Claus met with children at the gazebo along with members of the Lakeview Fire Department. In addition, the West Hempstead Fire Department helped with the tree-lighting ceremony to conclude the celebration.
