Lakeview resident and chef Nilka Hendricks, who was a contestant on “Hell’s Kitchen,” the Fox reality television cooking competition, visited Hempstead High School to teach students about the culinary arts. Her visit was part of an annual career workshop in the school’s Read 180 program, which requires students to learn and conduct research about different careers and make presentations about their discoveries.
