A tropical storm is disrupting homecoming.
The Malverne High School homecoming football game is still planned for Saturday, Sept. 23, however, homecoming events have been postponed due to the impending storm this weekend.
The football game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at Malverne High School. The Mules (2-0) host West Hempstead (0-2).
Homecoming events, including the parade, have been rescheduled to Friday, Oct. 13 according to the school district.
The National Hurricane Center labeled the storm off the coast "Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen." The storm is forecast to become a tropical or subtropical storm sometime Friday. If it does, it will be named "Ophelia."
