Man dies in West Hempstead crash. Nassau Boulevard reopened.

A 41-year-old man died early Sunday when he crashed into another vehicle on Nassau Boulevard in West Henpstead, according to Nassau County police.

Police said the man was driving at 3:40 a.m. when his 2015 Hyundai Elantra crossed the double yellow line on Nassau Boulevard. The Elantra crashed into a 2019 Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 26-year-old man. 

The 41-year-old man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospitcal doctor, police said. The 26-year-old man remained at scene and was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash caused Nassau police to close Nassau Boulevard for eight hours Sunday morning. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
