MHS scientist named semifinalist in essay contest

Malverne High School senior Christopher Jaccino was recently named a semifinalist in the Young Naturalist Awards Program for 2011. The program — an essay competition — is sponsored by the American Museum of Natural History. Jaccino’s essay, “The Efficiency of Tripoid Grass Carp as a Biological for Brazilian Elodea,” was based on the research he conducted during the 2010-11 school year.
