School districts across Nassau close ahead of Monday's storm

As of 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the following schools districts within the Heralds' coverage area reported on their websites that they would close on Monday, Feb. 1, because of an impending snow storm that was expected to drop up to a foot of snow across the region:

• Baldwin School District — closed, no remote learning.

• East Meadow School District — closed. Website states, "Enjoy the snow day and stay safe!"

• East Rockaway School District — closed, no remote learning.

• Elmont School District — school buildings closed; district will shift to remote learning for all grades.

• Hewlett-Woodmere School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning. 

• Franklin Square School District — school buildings closed; district will pivot to remote learning at 9 a.m.

• Freeport School District — closed, no remote learning.

• Glen Cove School District — closed, no remote learning.

• Island Park School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning. Asks parents to check the district website for more information.

• Long Beach School District — closed, no remote learning.

• Lynbrook School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• Malverne School District — website only states, "Snow Day."

• North Shore School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• Oceanside School District — website only states, "Snow Day."

• Oyster Bay School District — website states, "Traditional Snow Day."

• Rockville Centre School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• Seaford School District — website states, "Traditional snow day."

• Wantagh School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• West Hempstead School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

The following school districts did not indicate on their webistes whether schools would be closed as of 8:30 p.m. Sunday, but News 12 reported the following:

• Bellmore School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• Bellmore-Merrick School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• Hempstead School District — will switch to remote learning.

• North Bellmore School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.

• North Merrick School District — closed; does not indicate remote learning.
