Holiday toy drive
State Sen. Todd Kaminsky is currently sponsoring a holiday toy drive for children of all ages, and is collecting donations up to Friday, Dec. 21. Residents are welcome to bring unwrapped donations to Kaminsky’s District Office in Rockville Centre. All gifts will benefit families in the 9th Senate District. Zumba at the library
Party, sweat, and get fit with Zumba instructor Donette Longmore-Levy at the Lakeview Public Library on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. It’s a good workout for everybody and every body. Please register at least three days prior to the program. All programs are subject to cancellation with insufficient registration. Our Lady of Lourdes thrift shop
Our Lady of Lourdes will hold its weekly thrift shop between Park Blvd. and Wright Ave. in Malverne on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The shop is open each Wednesday, and the first and third Saturday of each month, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Come in and browse, buy at bargain prices; clothes, household goods, jewelry, misc. New Year’s revelry
Give 2018 a lively send-off, at “Laughin’ Rockin’ New Year’s Eve,” at the Madison Theatre’s on Monday, Dec. 31, at 6 p.m. Enjoy some festive revelry without having to venture too far. Old Bethpage Village Restoration shares some festive merriment, by candlelight, during its annual Candlelight Evenings event, Friday through Sunday, Dec. 21-23 and Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 27-29, 5-9:30 p.m. The rustic landscape of the restored village is transformed in the spirit of the season.
