W.H. foundation to host fundraiser

The Board of Trustees of the West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund announced that the Fund’s annual dinner will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. at the Pompeii Restaurant in West Hempstead.

The scholarship recipients for 2013 will receive their awards at the dinner, which is not only a tribute to the students and their families, but also the Fund’s major fundraising event.

The West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund, Inc. was established in the 1969-70 school year to coordinate and standardize many scholarship efforts in West Hempstead. Since its inception, the fund has distributed $345,000 to 256 students. WHCSF is a non-profit organization, chartered by the State of New York and administered by a Board of Trustees, who are elected by participating members. The Fund hosts several fundraising events each year.

This year’s dinner will feature a Raffle drawing for several exciting prizes. Raffle tickets are currently being sold throughout the community by members of the Board of Trustees. Any inquiries should be directed to whcsf@aol.com. All proceeds support the work of the fund and its scholarships.
