The bleachers on West Hempstead High School’s football field were crowded on Saturday with dozens of students, parents, school officials and residents who participated in the annual Jam the Stands event.

West Hempstead High School held its annual Jam the Stands event, where area residents and members of the school community — students, parents, faculty and staff — are encouraged to attend to show support for the Rams football team and cheerleaders, and to raise overall school spirit.
