I am writing on behalf of American Legion Post 1082, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the Legion to say thank you to the community. Your support and, especially, your donations after our bad break helped us go forward with our Thanksgiving dinner for less fortunate veterans, support our comrades at the Northport VA Medical Center and make a significant donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.

The East Meadow Veterans of Foreign War Post 2736 recently donated $10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warriors is a nationwide organization that provides programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

Members with the Wounded Warrior Project held their annual picnic in Eisenhower Park on Sept. 21.
A local ambassador for the organization, Paul Hastings, accepted a $15,000 donation from the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association. “It was an awesome turnout,” said Hastings, “and it was a more than generous donation from the PBA.”
